GAVIN HAMILTON

I am looking for information on the family of GAVIN HAMILTON who were the landlords of Robert Burns at Mosgeil(?) Ayreshire. Apparently both men were close friends as well as landlord and tenant. Surely someone has researched the Hamiltons, if not purely for that historical connection. Kin of Gavin Hamilton settled in Tasmania in the 1870s.

Hello Faye
I am very interested to learn that kin of GAVIN HAMILTON settled in Tasmania. GAVIN HAMILTON (1751-1805) of Mauchline and good friend of Robbie Burns, is my wife's 3 X great grand uncle. She is descended from Gavin's sister, JACOBINA HAMILTON (1750-1838) who married PATRICK REID in Mauchline in 1775.
